PUBLISHERS: 

Digital media producing companies with advertising driven revenue, i.e. “the sell-side”. This encompasses all publishers, big and small across all mediums: web, audio, podcasts, apps, television, OOH and Connected TV, online magazine and newspapers, and more.

Examples: ABC, Bloomberg, Fox, Hulu, LiveStrong, Spotify, The New York Times, Thrillist, theSkimm, USA Today, Vimeo, etc. 

AGENCIES: 

Advertising agencies and media agencies, i.e. “the buy-side”. This encompasses agencies of all sizes who handle the creation, planning and purchasing of advertising campaigns on behalf of their clients.

BRANDS:

Also “buyside.” A company that purchases digital advertising to sell their products and services (and isn’t a part of the advertising ecosystem as a Technology Provider, see below)
