The Most Relevant Conference for Digital Media & Revenue Ops Leaders

March 8-11, 2020 | Santa Monica, CA

Sessions that speak to your challenges. Peers that speak your language.

  • Jamie Gutfreund

    Jamie Gutfreund

    Strategic Advisor

The new decade of ad tech started with a bang, as Google Chrome announced it was (slowly) hammering the last nail in the third-party cookie’s coffin. But this was only the latest sign that “business as usual” in digital advertising is anything but these days. Privacy regulations, increased brand involvement in media buying, ad tech consolidation, and other factors are completely rewriting the online advertising paradigm.

Strangely enough, the shake-up is opening a huge opportunity for premium publishers, whose data and insights are more valuable than ever. But do they have the skills to truly show advertisers just what they can offer—and how it can affect bottom lines? Using examples from her experiences working with agencies, brands, and ad tech providers, industry veteran Jamie Gutfreund examines how to refresh advertiser-publisher relationships and rebuild trust when it comes to measurement, technology partners, user experience, and more.

  • Jessica B. Lee

    Jessica B. Lee

Partner, Co-Chair, Privacy, Security & Data Innovations

With every new Apple iOS update, GDPR mandate, or state-specific consumer privacy protection law, it can seem like the ad revenue playing field gets smaller and smaller for publishers. Add in the oversight of a Chief Privacy Officer or Senior Counsel, and the list of things ad ops teams can't do gets longer and longer. But ad tech attorney & expert Jessica B. Lee will shed light on why the future of privacy-compliant digital ad sales isn't all doom and gloom. (And she'll even answer some of the questions you've always wanted to ask your in-house counsel or legal team -- but never did).

  • Jimmy Hutcheson

    Jimmy Hutcheson

Following Next Management Partners' acquisition of SPIN, CEO Jimmy Hutcheson dives into how the private equity firm seeks to revitalize the classic music magazine while also opining on what excites private equity firms when it comes to digital media, revenue diversification, and of course fallout from the crumbling cookie.

  • Elgin Kim

    Elgin Kim

In all the excitement around connected TV, we've forgotten that we're not even close to tapping the monetization potential of mobile content. In this wide-ranging fireside chat, mobile expert Elgin Kim explores the biggest operational and date challenges in apps and mobile web currently while tapping into the most exciting mobile opportunities.

Is the Publisher Forum canceled due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns?

No, it’s not cancelled! The conference will take place as planned. AdMonsters and our conference venue, the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of the attendees. See below for more detail.

How many people will be attending the Publisher Forum? Are there international attendees?

Publisher Forum is a relatively small event at 200 attendees (publishers + sponsors). Attendees are 95% from the United States and Canada. International attendees are from Europe and the UK; none are from Italy or France.

What is the latest on COVID-19 state of emergency in Los Angeles, and how does it affect public gatherings and events like the Publisher Forum?

The CDC’s situation summary continues to report that the health risk from COVID-19 for the general American public is considered low.

Currently, the CDC has issued no travel advisories for travel to the United States, or Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health declared a local state of emergency due to 6 newly confirmed cases, which all had known exposure sources.  There is no evidence of community transmission at this time.

In their press conference this morning, LA County officials emphasized that declaring a state of emergency will allow them to access state and federal funds that will aid the city in preparations and precautions. They urged Los Angeles residents and visitors to go about regular business and daily life. After the press conference, The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health tweeted that there is “no need for significant social distancing measures at this time.”

Several other cities and states have recently issued states of emergency due to the coronavirus; this is not unique to Los Angeles or cause for alarm. Events and conferences are still taking place safely.

What is AdMonsters doing to ensure participant safety?

The health and safety of our conference attendees, employees, partners, and event staff is our number one priority.

  • Sanitization stations will be on-site in all session rooms and meal functions. The CDC also recommends frequent hand-washing. We encourage attendees to refrain from handshaking to mitigate risks.
  • We will have thermometers available for anyone who may need to check their body temperature. Please visit the AdMonsters Info Desk to pick one up, or call down to the front hotel desk to receive one delivered to your room. If any attendees is unwell and requires medical assistance, we will direct off-site to the appropriate medical resource.
  • The Loews Beach Hotel is following recommendations in the U.S. EPA’s Emerging Pathogen Policy regarding the use of cleaning disinfectants effective against COVID-19. We have requested additional cleanings of our meeting room facilities, including door handles, elevator buttons, light switches, etc.
  • There will be on-site information about how to keep yourself healthy at the event.
  • There will be frequent reminders that hands should be washed often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • For your safety and the safety of all participants, please do not attend Publisher Forum if you feel ill.
  • Please notify AdMonsters if you have traveled to an affected region or had significant contact with anyone who traveled to an affected region within the past 14 days.

If I am unable to attend the conference due to corporate travel policy changes and/or person reasons, can I receive a refund or credit towards a future event?

Please see AdMonsters’ cancellation policy below. While we understand concerns, we are unable to issue refunds due to changes in individual corporate travel policy. Per our cancellation policy, no hotel cancellations are available within 30 days of the event.

Unfortunately, we are not able to issue credits towards future AdMonsters events.

Who attends Publisher Forum?

AdMonsters Publisher Forums are designed specifically for digital strategists, data scientists, revenue, operations & technology leaders at online publishers, content creators and mobile application developers. AdMonsters reviews and approves each individual participant to ensure a conversation amongst a community of senior peers in digital media.

What should I expect at the Publisher Forum?

Most sessions are open to attendees only, except for Sponsor Workshops, Panels, and Networking Sessions.
The Publisher Forum conference takes place over three days, beginning with a cocktail reception and dinner on Sunday evening and ending at 1:00 PM Wednesday. The agenda includes:

  • 2-3 keynotes by industry visionaries
  • Interactive sessions led by industry leaders who are also part of the AdMonsters community
  • Breakouts covering a wide variety of focused revenue, data and ad-ops relevant topics

The 30-60 minute attendee sessions include presentations, round-table discussions and case studies on a wide variety of relevant topics such as: yield management, first party auctions, ad serving technology, inventory management, organizational structure, data science, business process automation, operations policies, rich/streaming media and more.

Why should I register early?

Two reasons:

  • The price for Publisher Forums goes up as we get closer to the event date
  • We always sell out since we limit the number of attendees to keep the conversations open and flowing

Cancellation Policy

All conference fees are non-refundable. Substitutions will be accepted.  Non-payment or non-attendance due to natural disaster or any other reason does not constitute cancellation or refund. If for any reason Access Intelligence/AdMonsters decided to cancel or postpone this event, Access Intelligence/AdMonsters is not responsible for covering airfare, hotel or other travel costs incurred by the attendees. No hotel cancellations available within 30 days of event. Note: All payments must be received before entering the event.
