Ecommerce was once a novelty and now prevalent : consumers love buying online. Display advertising continues to grow but still struggles with acceptance by consumers and advertisers. This panel will discuss what display can learn from ecommerce, past mistakes and reach its potential.

Moderator Rob Beeler: Vice President, Content & Media

Rob Beeler

Rob Beeler will moderate a conversation between industry experts that is sure to generate some controversy. Topics will touch on how online advertising has evolved and what the future holds. Specifically, they will examine the impact of the new market-driven economy on how buyers and sellers can work together the maintain growth in online advertising. Together they will try to identify ways in which business leaders throughout the ecosystem can leverage operations and technology to increase profit and profitability.

James Hamlin, Marketing Director, Seatwave

James Hamlin is Seatwave’s Marketing Director. He joined the company in June 2006 after over five years working in the Online Dating sector. James is responsible for all Seatwave’s Marketing, above and below the line.  Prior to joining Seatwave, James was head of Online Marketing at Match.com working across 35 markets internationally. He was also Online Media Manager at Udate.com.

 In his spare time, James likes to play football, cricket & tennis as much as possible and DJ in clubs and on radio.

Bob Bahramipour, Vice President of Business Development

Bob brings 15 years of media and Internet experience to TRUSTe. Prior to TRUSTe, Bob served as the Vice President of business development at YuMe, where he was responsible for building the largest video advertising network on the Internet. Before YuMe, as a senior member of the Yahoo! Search team Bob managed Yahoo!’s search toolbar business and oversaw product, distribution, and partnerships.

Prior to Yahoo! Bob led international partnerships at 3721 Technology Co Ltd., which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2003, and co-founded online marketplace Switchouse, Inc. where he oversaw business development. Bob is active in the technology and venture communities and serves on the board of advisors of StumbleUpon. Bob received his BS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and attended Northwestern’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business.

 

James Sandoval, Founder and CEO Invizua

James started his digital marketing career in 1999 at the agency Avenue A in Seattle. Since then, James has [mostly] stayed on the buy-side of the industry with stints at Carat Interactive in London in 2002-2003, Avenue A|Razorfish in Seattle (a second stint) in 2003-2005, Diffiniti and Isobar Global from 2005 to 2006 and then with Neo@Ogilvy between 2006 and 2008. James is now Founder & CEO of Invizua, a venture catalyst and technology company based in Shoreditch since September 2008.
