About the Panelists

Caspar Schlickum

Managing Director, EMEA

Xaxis

Caspar Schlickum is Managing Director of Xaxis EMEA, and in this role is responsible for managing the operations and leading the strategic development of the Xaxis business across the region.

 


Before taking his role at Xaxis, Caspar was EMEA Managing Director of the Media Innovation Group (MIG), one of the cornerstone companies that comprises Xaxis.

Caspar has extensive experience in digital media and audience insight driven marketing, having spent four years at Mindshare as a global client lead, and one year within Kantar, the holding company for WPP’s research and insight businesses.

 

Prior to joining WPP, Caspar was Commercial Development Director at Fairfax Digital, one of Australia’s largest publishing houses. Before commencing his career in marketing, Caspar spent six years in investment banking advising on technology, communications and infrastructure projects in the Asia Pacific region.

 

Caspar holds an an Economics degree (with first class honours) from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and a MBA from London Business School and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

 

C. Eoin Townsend
Senior Vice president of Partnerships and Business Development

C. Eoin Townsend, senior vice president of partnerships and business development, was previously a senior product, services and business operations executive in the online media industry. Eoin leads DoubleVerify’s partnership and collaboration with ad networks and exchanges. He has more than 15 years of experience in designing and launching products as well as in creating and executing business strategies.

 

Eoin previously led DoubleClick’s international business expansion and product development, and has lived in London, Hong Kong and Japan as he supported its global growth. He was also a VP and GM at ChannelAdvisor, the leading software provider that helps retailers world-wide sell more online through search, comparison shopping, marketplace development and RichMedia. Most recently, Townsend was an active consultant, investor and co-founder of MainStreetSocial, a leading brand safe network focused on local government and community publishing and monetization.

 

Eoin attended the University of Toronto where he studied computer science and economics.

 

Nigel Gilbert

Mr. Gilbert leads AppNexus' London office, where he is responsible for building relationships with the leading buyers and sellers of digital advertising in the UK, and help drive expansion across Europe.


Prior to joining AppNexus, Gilbert served as Head of Orange Ad Market (UK & FR) for France Telecom.  He was responsible for all commercial operations at Orange Ad Market, the real-time bidding (RTB) exchange.

Previously, Gilbert was a founding partner of Unanimis, the first and largest digital publisher network in the UK.  As head of sales for Unanimis, Gilbert established and managed sales operations for eBay, BBC, Channel 5, and the London Stock Exchange, among others.  At the time Unanimis was acquired by the Orange France Telecom Group in 2009, it was one of the largest digital buying points in the UK.
