Inventory at the end of the year
For many publishers, site traffic traditionally goes down during December as the holidays keep people off their PCs and people take vacations. This certainly can create headaches managing inventory. To my knowledge, no ad server has a "the holidays are coming" feature to help forecast and deliver campaigns with December in mind.
Two areas of interest:
1. What are some best practices for managing inventory (both forecasting and campaign management) through the month of December? Are people adjusting campaigns to deliver earlier in the month vs. an even delivery?
2. Perhaps it's too early to say, but does mobile traffic make up for the drops in PC based traffic? Anyone have any anecdotes around this?
