Funny or Die Teams Up With Turner for Linear and Digital Branded Content Group
Seems that Funny or Die's branded content initiatives were too bold to be kept just within the walls of the Internet comedy site. Former Funny or Die Vice President of Ad Sales (and OPS speaker) Ed Wise will head up Turner Branded Entertainment, a new group within Turner Digital Ad Sales that will employ both Funny or Die talent and production teams for creating branded content to be distributed across Turner's linear and digital properties.
Working in collaboration with Turner's various ad sales and marketing groups, the new division "will develop strategic content opportunities for our advertising partners to make a deeper connection with our audiences and their key consumers," said Greg D’Alba, President of CNN News Networks and Turner Digital Ad Sales. One of the prime objectives, D'Alba added, was to create content that could easily be transmitted across a host of screens.
During his OPS keynote with Funny or Die Vice President of Branded Entertainment Chris Bruss, Wise will discuss the evolution and execution of the site's branded content program while discussing the ramifications of the new partnership with Turner.
“Over the last several years I've had the pleasure of working with some of the most extraordinary writers, directors, producers and talent in the entertainment industry," Wise said. "Leading Turner Branded Entertainment allows me to bring all of these resources and experiences to Turner to enhance advertising capabilities. I'm excited for the potential it holds for our partners who are looking for creative, organic ways to connect with consumers.”
