This session will share learnings on making a smooth transition through the process based on Gawker.com's and AOL's recent high risk and high profile initiatives.

Kate Maxwell is the Advertising Operations Manager at Gawker Media. Known for everything from snarky news scoops to trusted gadget reviews and helpful tips, unconventional Gawker Media is the publisher of some of the best loved titles on the web including Gawker, Gizmodo, and Lifehacker. Named Blog of the Decade by AdWeek in 2010, the influential media group now produces eight original brands with a collective audience of 20 million US readers.

 

Kate manages a multinational team of Ad Ops Associates both here in New York and at Gawker's other headquarters in Budapest, Hungary. In addition, she oversees Gawker's vendor and server relationships and is the main intermediary between Ops and many of Gawker's other departments, including billing, creative, and sales. Kate also manages the newl founded club:Sandwich at Gawker, which she would be more than happy to tell you about. She is a former college track and field athlete and completed her first full Olympic-distance Triathlon this summer.

Lucas has been in the digital advertising space at AOL for over six years and product manages AOL’s suite of internal advertising applications for Ad Operations. During this time he has led systems transition activities including the move from AOL’s proprietary ad serving systems to DoubleClick’s DSM/DFP platform, from DoubleClick to ADTECH including a custom build Media Planning and inventory management application, and implementation of Rapt’s pricing analytics tools. Prior to AOL, he provided CRM management consulting for Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and KPMG Consulting, largely working on business process improvement and implementation of Siebel and Epiphany CRM systems
