Senior Director, Business Solutions

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
MySpace is looking for a strategic, self motivated, forward thinking Senior Director of Business Solutions.  This leader will identify, prioritize and translate strategic business goals into operational projects, with the goal of increasing revenue, improving efficiency, reducing risk and providing improved customer service (i.e. work with key stakeholders to determine needs/gaps, ensure internal and external needs are met)
 
 
This individual will have responsibility for managing a team designed to execute all large scale business processes and projects across MySpace’s sales operations group; they will act as the primary liaison to other groups in the organization, including but not limited to, accounting, corporate analytics, product and sales; subsequently translating their needs as acting Interpreter for their lead Engineer/Application Developer.  In addition, this leader will work closely with all 3rd party partners, including, but not limited to, ad serving, order management and CRM partners. 
 
Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Senior Sales leadership team to identify all major business needs within sales operations and translate strategic vision into tangible, actionable development projects, including work flow impact analysis and ROI.  Prioritize projects. Create, resource and manage project plans to solve for each. 
  • Manage to deadline, all requirements related to implementation, integration, adoption and ongoing improvement of usage and function for all 3rd Party Sales Systems.  Likewise, identify gaps in 3rd party systems and develop, in conjunction with engineering and IT all plans for ‘in-house’ or alternate solutions.
  • Seek continuous improvement each day. Proactively seek inefficiencies and process vulnerabilities across the Sales Platform. Ideate, develop, “sell through” and own solutions, leveraging relevant external or internal resources to resolve.
  • Manage through experience and onsite learnings - data architecture, accuracy and accessibility across systems on behalf of the sales organization. Become subject matter expert in all baseline data sources, and develop and execute plans that support a data driven decision making environment where sales and operations have easy access and confidence in relevant data sources.
  • Drive regular interdepartmental meetings designed to maintain continuity across all end user Sales Systems’ usage with a focus on homogenizing overlapping functionality and data intelligence
  • Evaluate new technologies; participate in industry trade associations and events to identify areas of opportunity for MySpace. Maintain active industry contact list to share/gather intelligence, evolving best practices with publisher peer group.
  • Mentor and coach team sharing years of practical hands-on Ops knowledge; assist in driving the development and adoption of project management and Ops savvy throughout the sales operations organization and other supported business groups.  

 
 

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • 8+ years experience in online media is sales operations, client services or project management role
  • 3+ years Business Transformation or Business Analysis experience
  • Knowledge of digital advertising – the industry, trends and pricing models 
  • Conversant in Publisher and Client side Sales Processes, Account Management, Trafficking Procedures, Intelligence Reporting and Financial/Accounting Practices (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, project /task prioritization and schedule development 
  • Has general knowledge of base codes and general engineering & development cycle best practices
  • Excellent Q/A & data assurance skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all levels of internal and external management
  • Outstanding business acumen and understanding of data usage as it applies to Sales, Delivery and Reporting of Good and Services
  • Ability to effectively drive change to existing operations and practices where necessary
  • Proficient in: MS Word, Project, Excel (macro level skills) and PowerPoint; as well as Integrated Sales-Order Management-Finance systems.  SharePoint, Microstrategy and Relational Databases a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA a plus

The successful candidate will receive a compensation package commensurate with his/her track record and level of achievement.
