Solbright / Operative - what are the alternatives?

Do we have anyone who has first hand experiance with operative?

I've never been the biggest fan of Solbright, but when you get it configured properly its not a bad solution. The general problem was always getting it to that point. Can anyone who has experience using both highlight any perks to Operative?

From my perspective the push from solbright to ad servers was clunky. The sales workflow wasn't too bad. The customer service was average, and any form of customisation was over priced. I've messed around with DSM as well which also leaves alot to be desired.

I'm at a point where i'm looking for alternatives.

Key functions for me would be:
Sales & Contract work flow, Inventory Management, trafficking and then for reporting if I could easily generate something like ecpm by site/section/product/salesperson against sell through then its going to cover all my bases.

Has anyone done any ground work on options?

Cheers,
Brendan

There is a tool called Zoox Plan Builder by RSG systems. It manages proposals/contracts, rate card and does 3rd Party reconciliation. I haven't personally used it, but I would consider it to be in that category.

Hi there
There seem to be loads of different companies getting into this space but with differing results.
The main alternatives apart from Operative are Fivia, Fattail and Adlogix.
We use the Operative system and it does look after a lot of what you actually need it to do. The big thing is for you and your company to be completely clear about what you want to achieve. For these types of implementations it is always a challenge getting them up and running but one of the biggest areas is actually understanding what the business actually needs. If they have never used a workflow solution before one of the biggest challenges is actually getting them to identify what they need and how they want it to work. Sales teams may say they want transparency and control but often they dont.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss in more detail.

Thanks
Lisa

Aimatch are definitely of interest. Smart cookies behind that, they have a few of the characters working on that who built Accipiter. Mind you, Accipiter didn't handle inventory particularly well either.

Unfortunately Solbright and DSM seem to be the only options in the australian market with any experience and any sort of success. Ive looked at a few alternatives eg Fatail and AImatch but until somone with a good track record in the australian market comes along, happy to persist with DSM.

David,
Check out AdSoftware (www.adsoftware.com). They have made great strides in producing a very user friendly and ad server friendly platform that may be exactly what you are looking for between DSM and Operative.

I have not used directly, but have heard very good things about Fivia (http://www.fivia.com/).

We use AdFront by Fivia and we are very happy with it.
