large file size concerns - DoubleClick tags, verification vendors

Hi all,
We're seeing an increase in over-spec ads coming through DoubleClick tags lately. The actual creative (swf) is typically at spec but the additional JS files are coming in around 18K alone and push the total file size over the standard 40K initial load.

In addition, we've also started see quite a few campaigns coming through with AdSafe tracking in place. The AdSafe tracking alone is 30-40k (!!) - combine that with an already over-spec Doubleclick tag and you're looking at nearly 100K for a standard rectangle ad. Other verification vendors don't seem to be nearly as high as AdSafe but are also pushing total file size up.

Pushing back on the AdSafe or DoubleClick JS file sizes is not working and doesn't seem to be an option.

I've seen 4 such campaigns this week. We are running these since the bulk of the ad load does appear after page load so the impact is minimal but it's causing a lot of spin (and extra work) in QA and trafficking.

Anybody else facing similar issues? Are you just compromising and running these? Was there a big change in the JS file for DFA tags that upped the file size?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!
