Secrets of Success: How to build and maintain an effective ad operations department

Thaddeus HanscomAd Operations leaders depend on their teams for their departments to succeed. Thaddeus Hanscom, Senior Director of Media Solutions for Expedia offers his unique perspective on developing an Ad Operations team into a 'winning' team that helps drive the company to it's goals. Four years ago, Thaddeus Hanscom left newspapers and print journalism for eCommerce and online advertising. Initially, he directed operations for Expedia’s North American Operations team. In 2007, he left his native Seattle to manage a fast growing European Sales and Operations team in London. In 2009, his responsibilities expanded to cover International Markets and he now spends a lot of time in a plane. He once was a techie, a lover of SQL, and built teams that supported offline print publishing systems and online advertising systems. Now, he spends a lot of time thinking about spreadsheets, sales targets and product strategy.
