HopStop Taps Mocean Mobile for Hyper-Local Geotargeted Ads

The week I moved to New York City, a friend and longtime resident pointed me in the direction of HopStop, exclaiming, "This is your lifeline." And over the last several years, the location-based travel site and mobile app have been an invaluable resource for navigating the public transit labyrinthe that is the Big Apple. It's also come in handy in other cities I've visited, inside and outside the U.S.

And soon HopStop might be delivering me relevant geotargeted advertising, thanks to a new partnership with Mocean Mobile. Hyper-local geotargeting across all major platforms (including iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry) will allow HopStop to highlight sponsored locales when they're nearby and deliver relevant advertising (can you say promotions?) to app users based on location. Such coverage could reach HopStop's 2 million users in more than 200 cites in 68 regions.

“With Mocean, we can target mobile ads to specific zip codes, cities, neighborhoods, street addresses, exact x/y coordinates and GPS locations," commented HopStop CEO Joe Meyer. "If an advertiser wants to attract people looking for directions to Times Square or target someone walking through Times Square, Mocean helps us serve the targeted ad – and they make it very easy to do so.”
